mission statement
Our mission statement and logo express our vision of being a loving community where we walk with those facing tough dark times and grow in faith as we disciple followers of Jesus. Reaching out to the world in which we live with the love and compassion of Jesus flows from our life of worship and prayer.

We believe in corporate and private worship, and prayer. Our worship is for God and we cherish intimacy through worship and prayer, with God the Father, through the Son and by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is authoritative for all aspects of life and ministry. We are committed to promoting personal and corporate study of God’s word.

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit were given by God to empower and equip the church for worship, ministry and service. We teach and encourage people to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that we are called to bring people to a living relationship with Jesus as Lord and Saviour and to seek their healing – emotional, physical and spiritual.

We believe that every follower of Jesus has a ministry regardless of age or gender, and we are committed to helping them find and grow in it.

We believe that God has established Christ Church in Kenilworth to be a tangible witness of his love and compassion in this neighbourhood and to be a beacon of hope to our city and nation.

With the rest of the Parish of St John’s Wynberg we affirm the Montreal Declaration of Anglican Essentials.
